Shico Footwear Ltd was founded in 1976.
Originally the factory was based in the heart of British shoe land in Northamptonshire and employed 35 members of staff.

In 1990 Shico acquired an additional factory in Leicestershire where currently industrial safety footwear and riding boots are being produced.
The Equitector Brand was created in 1991 and the first ever purpose designed toe protective riding boot was launched to the equestrian market.
In 2002 the Equitector Equi-buster riding boot with Climate Control Technology wins the Highly Commended Award for Innovation at BETA Trade Fair.
In 2004 Equitector launches its first long riding boot with Multi-Fit Flexi Leg and wins the Innovation Award for riding clothing category at the BETA annual trade show.
Equitector has now extensive range short boots and 7 variations of the award winning New Classic Long Riding Boots fitting any width of calf from 13 to 23 inches.
